![]() ![]() What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome during development? We started off with about four people and now there are roughly 70 people working on Shadow Fight Arena. The team then grew throughout the development process. In fact, it took us up until Q3 2019 to put the dedicated team together. ![]() The main problem was related to human resources as it was a real challenge to find experienced specialists that suited the needs of our project. The development process took about two years. How long did development take, and how many people worked on the game? All their most wanted features were implemented in one way or another. Also, when we first started the development we made a survey among Shadow Fight 3 players in order to find out what they would like to have most in the new game. ![]() This is how the concept of Shadow Fight Arena came about - we decided to create a deeper combat system based on heroes and bosses from the Shadow Fight universe and build a new game around it. We tested PvP in our previous game, Shadow Fight 3, but we quickly realised that in order to achieve a well-balanced PvP experience, significant changes would have to be made to the item-based RPG-system. We are big fans of fighting games ourselves and have always wanted to create a full-fledged fighting game with PvP on mobile devices. Where did the initial idea for the game come from? This is something that is so often lacking in PC and console games. The basic idea is to select a team of three heroes, jump into matching and quickly find an opponent who is suitable for your level. ![]() Mikhail Dragovalovskiy: Shadow Fight Arena is a fighting game with classic controls and real-time PvP on iOS and Android. : Can you start off by telling us about Shadow Fight Arena? This week, we spoke to Banzai Games producer Mikhail Dragovalovskiy surrounding the development Shadow Fight Arena, the latest fighting title from the studio. To highlight all of the extensive work that often goes on unseen in the background, is reaching out to developers to learn more about the general rigmarole of releasing a video game, with our ' Making Of' series. And in the current mobile and handheld games market, that's only the first step to making the title succeed. No matter the size of the game or how long it ultimately takes to make, each new title involves a lot of hard work, tough decisions, and a little bit of luck before it even gets out the door and onto devices. The game will be officially live on 16th November for both iOS or Android stores.The process of creating a game is difficult, long, and often stressful, but it's one that can reap many rewards alongside actually seeing your ideas come to life. Your character can activate a Shadow Form, switching himself/herself into a black shadow and be able to perform shadow abilities. Although the game is now in 3D, there is still some shadowy-ness going on. Your characters will be able to equip abilities on his/her equipment too, adding perk or special moves for the combat. You may find the battle difficult at first (especially if you are new to the series), but after some practice you will get the hang of it. Different combinations of directions and kicks/punch perform different moves, so adapting the situation quickly is the key to win a battle. Its combat style is basically similar to the previous titles, all fast-paced and challenging.
